Enrollment is limited to 12 students so the course may fill prior to the application deadline. Admission to this program is selective and all applicants will be screened prior to enrollment.

The Basic EMT course is being offered at the SVCDC in conjunction with the Bennington Rescue Squad. Students who satisfactorily complete the course will be eligible to sit for the national EMT certification exam. Also, any hours completed in this program can be applied toward the EMT apprenticeship currently offered though the Bennington Rescue Squad.

Students will learn about the human body, ethics, stabilization, airways, assessment, trauma, types of injuries, ambulance operations, and much more.
