As you already know, the CDC prides itself on preparing all of our students to become hard working and skilled workers and/or college students. We therefore place a strong emphasis on what we call common and critical work readiness skills. Quite simply these common and critical work readiness skills include: Showing up regularly and on time to work. Getting along with and being respectful to supervisors and customers. As part of this emphasis, each and every one of our instructors will be incorporating a “work readiness grade” when computing final grades in his or her program. The purpose of this grade is to reward students who have good attendance and who are thoughtful and respectful when dealing with the instructor and the other students in class. However, this grade also has the potential of having an adverse effect on a student’s grade should they demonstrate poor or unreliable attendance or have difficulty in being thoughtful and respectful to others. Instructors will be using a template of sorts to assist them in computing this grade fairly for all students.

The template they will be using will probably look something like the chart below:
