Searches and Seizure

For CDC and High School Students & Parents
Guidelines for searches are as follows:
 
search and seizure of property or prohibited items Desks, lockers, textbooks, and other materials or supplies loaned by the school remain the property of the school.
search and seizure of property or prohibited items Lockers may be opened by school employees for emergency, cleaning, or maintenance purposes.
search and seizure of property or prohibited items When prohibited items are found, they will be confiscated and the student reported to the Director.
search and seizure of property or prohibited items School property may be searched by the Administration upon reasonable suspicion that a law or school policy is being violated.
search and seizure of property or prohibited items Searches of a student’s person or vehicle or other property will be conducted by the Administration if there is reasonable cause to believe that a breach of school policy or law is being committed.
search and seizure of property or prohibited items Search of a student’s person will be conducted by a school employee of the same gender, and, whenever possible, in the presence of another school employee.
