Career Explorations

Career ExplorationsMaking up your mind about what direction to take after high school is one of the more important decisions you will make. With the right plan, great things can happen! Without a plan, your goal is just a wish! Without a goal, you could be just drifting with the currents.

Save time and avoid disappointment by collecting useful information about yourself and your options. You can translate your preliminary thoughts about your life after high school into some concrete goals by understanding how your interests, values, and talents connect to the decisions you will have to make before you even get that diploma. Planning your career path and choosing the “right” college or trade school will get you on your way. Knowing how to choose the right college major or focus for trade school, and navigate the planning process is just one piece of the puzzle.

In Career Exploration you will tour local companies, make connections through a student selected community-service project, visit your choice of CDC technical programs, and be challenged by a variety of projects and interactive activities especially designed to uncover information about the “real you.” It’s all about building realistic plans that reflect your unique set of strengths and interests.

There are so many options out there. Sorting through it all to find the best fit for you is the challenge. A solid plan is a source of confidence and strength. It provides you with purpose and a firm foundation for learning and personal growth.
