Bio/Ag Science |
Bio/Ag Science is an introductory course designed to support literacy in basic biology, chemistry, ecology, botany and entomology as it pertains to agriculture sciences. In addition, concepts are generalized for the history of agriculture, types of agriculture and the sciences involved, sustainability (i.e. soil, water, climate/weather – wind and solar, energy, pest management and land use), the business of agriculture (i.e. cash crops, commodities and value-added goods), and current issues/careers in agriculture. This course requires basic algebra skills and knowledge from unified sciences. This is an experiment and research based course. Minimal reading and writing is required. No final exam. Complete portfolio is submitted for final grade.
