Accounting & Finance

Accounting & Finance This two-year program introduces basic accounting concepts and the components of a computerized accounting system. Topics include the principles of both manual and computerized accounting systems. Extensive lab time is provided for computer applications and problem solving. This is an excellent program for anyone entering the business field thinking of starting their own business, or continuing education in business, accounting or finance.

Future Business Leaders of America

FBLA prepares students by promoting business leadership, understanding of private enterprise, establishing career goals and developing character and self-confidence in its members. FBLA serves 300,000 members and teachers in 13,000 chartered chapters worldwide.

Credits:A maximum of 3 credits
Graduation Requirement:Math and Technology- A student who successfully completes the first year of this program can earn up to two credits in math towards graduation requirements, (one credit per semester). A student who successfully completes the second year of this program may receive one additional credit in math towards graduation requirements. MAUHS students can earn the required 0.5 Technology credit by completing the first year of this program
Prerequisite:Above a 70 in math and Instructor permission
Suggested Preparation:Business Basics, word processing and spreadsheet skills
Post High School Education: Business graduates have enrolled in Castleton, Johnson & Wales, Southern Vermont College, St. Michael’s, St. Rose, Bryant, UVM, Binghamton, CCV, and Culinary Institute of America

Adults are welcome to apply for daytime technical programs. A Vermont resident adult without a high school diploma is a secondary student and is eligible for tuition to be paid by their school district. Adults with high school diplomas will be charged a tuition. Financial aid may be available. Contact the Adult Education Office at 447-3596.
